Through the Years with the Zac Brown Band

If you have been raised in pop music and see Justin Bieber as the best singer of all time, then you would probably have no idea what the Zac Brown Band is all about; but for those whose music preference involves American country and folk song, the Zac Brown Band is a cut above the rest.

zac brown bandThe Zac Brown Band was formed in 2002 and started heavily performing that same year with about 200 shows each year. The current lineup of the said band consists of Zac Brown on the lead vocals as well as guitar,  Jimmy De Martini on the fiddle and, at times, vocals; John Driskell Hopkins on bass guitar and vocals also, Coy Bowles on the guitar and the keyboard, Chris Fryar on the drums, Clay Cook on a number of instruments such as the keyboard, mandolin and steel guitar, and Daniel delos Reyes on the percussion. The band has worked with a number of record labels such as the Bigger Picture, Southern Ground, and Atlantic. The band’s line up, however, has not been that long from the start. When the band was formed, Brown was at the vocals and acoustic guitar. He had one drummer and a bass guitarist. Back in those days, Brown had started his own record label formerly known as Home Grown (or Southern Ground).]

By 2004, the band had grown to include violinist Jimmy De Martini. The following year, John Driskell Hopkins also joined the group and handled the bass guitar. He also served as the baritone vocalist. Coy Bowles joined the following year and alternatively handled the guitar and the keyboards. The year 2008 saw the addition of Chris Fryar to the band. That same year, the band signed up with the Live Nation Artists Records.

This 2012, the band is not ashamed to admit that they are proud to have crossed off another item from their bucket list -being able to perform and fill the Madison Square Garden. The bands buck list actually goes a long way. Each year, all the band members would camp out in some place and assess just which of the item in their bucket list they are going to work on for the year.

Part of the bucket list of the sand band is to play with certain popular singers and musicians. Some of these items have been crossed out after they have played with a number of well-known artists for this year. These would include such artists as John Mayer, James Taylor, and Amos Lee, among others. there are, however, still a number of artists the band would like to play with such as Sting and Paul Simon.

Catch the band during their series of performances this December. Make sure you get your  Zac Brown Band tickets from Ticket Broker. The last of their performances for the year would be on New Year’s Eve at Jose Louis Arena in Detroit. Kid Rock would be performing with the band in the said show.
