The Tale of Taylor Swift’s Heart

Country singers are often thought of as having scruffy, western look. That is why, when Taylor Swift came into the picture, everyone immediately took notice. With her blonde hair, flawless skin, and doe eyes, it is hard to imagine that she is a country singer. What’s more, given her age, it is quite surprising to realize that not only is she gifted with one of the most soothing country voices, she is also a talented music writer.

Taylor Swift was originally from Pennsylvania although at age 14  she and her family had to move to Nashville, TN in order for her to pursue her music career. She is considered by the Sony/ ATV Music Publishing House as the youngest songwriter they have ever hired. When she moved to Nashville, she was signed up after the independent label, Big Machine Records.

Taylor SwiftTaylor’s first album, which happens to be self-titled, was released in October 2006. Although she was just 16 years old then, the album carried such tracks as ‘Teardrops on My Guitar”, and “Our Song” that have become an instant hit for women of her age, and maybe even beyond.  The album was able to peak at number 5 in the Billboard 200 while the single, “Teardrops on My Guitar”  was able to make it to the Billboard Hot 100 and is considered to be the best-charting track in the said album. “Our Song,” on the other hand, was able to peak at number 1 making Taylor the youngest person to have a number song where the singer was also the writer.

By 2008, Taylor has released her second album, “Fearless”. The said album launched a number of soothing country-pop tunes such as “Love Story”, “White Horse”, “You Belong with Me”, and “Fearless”. In general, the album was well-received and well-celebrated. As with her previous album, Taylor made every imaginable effort in order to promote the album. This paid off bringing Taylor a number of accolades and awards from the music industry and from fans as well.

With all the fame and fortune that she has found, however, you would think that Taylor Swift would have it easy in the love department. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be the case.

Although she had boyfriends in the past, most of them were not from the entertainment industry. Her first ever boyfriend from the music scene was Joe Jonas who broke up with her over the phone. She used the experience as inspiration for the songs, “Forever & Always”, and “Last Kiss”. She also dated Taylor Lautner of the Twilight fame, although the two broke up in 2010 and decided to be just friends. This experience, and the consequent wish of Swift to apologize to Lautner is the inspiration for the song, “Back to December”. Other popular names that seem to have fallen for Taylor Swift’s charisma include Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer, who is rumored to be the inspiration for the songs, “Dear John”, and “I Knew You Were Trouble”; and Harry Styles of One Direction who is said to be the reason behind Swift’s recent hit, “We Are Never Getting Back Together” and “Girl At Home”. Taylor’s recent heartache came when she and Connor Kennedy, of the Kennedy clan, broke up just a few days ago. With the way Taylor has been handling her heartaches, it seems we’re in for another heartbreaking hit album!

Taylor Swift will end 2012 with three appearances this November and December at the American Music Awards, the KiisFM Jingle Ball, and the Z100 Jingle Ball. Get your Taylor Swift tickets to this event from Ticket Broker.
