If you have been living under a rock, then you have a reason for not knowing Adam Levine. But who lives under a rock these days, right?
Adam Levine first took the fancy of many of the female specie as the front man and guitarist for the band Maroon 5. His boyish good looks and charm matched by the romantic streak most ladies felt he had, based on the tracks that can be found in maroon 5′s first album “Songs About Jane”, was enough to put the spotlight on him. It also does not hurt that his rocker cum hip-hop cum R&B voice can be quite refreshing in a time when pop music was ruled by boy bands.
Although Adam Levine is the most prominent member of Maroon 5, he is not the only one responsible for making the hits. The group is made up of Jesse Carmichael, James Valentine, Mickey Madden, Matt Flynn (who replaced Ryan Dusick), and, of course, Levine. The band started as “Kara’s Flowers” while Levine, Dusick, Madden, and Carmichael were still in high school. They were able to release one album in 1997. when the group reformed with James Valentine, they became more pop-oriented and was able to release an album in 2004 entitled, “Songs About Jane”. Most of the tracks in the said album were actually written by Levine and was inspired by an ex-girlfriend named, “Jane”. “Songs About Jane” spawned a number of well-loved Maroon 5 classics including “Harder to BReathe”, “She Will Be Loved”, “This Love”, and “Sunday Morning”.
By 2007, Maroon 5 was able to release its second album entitled, “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long”. Some of the most popular tracks in the said album were “Makes Me Wonder”, “Wake Up Call”, and “Won’t Go Home Without You”. “Makes Me Wonder” became the first single of Maroon 5 to peak at no. 1 in the Billboard Hot 100. On the other hand, their third album, “Hands All Over” was released in 2010 and featured such hits as “Misery”, “Never Gonna Leave This Bed”, and “Moves Like Jagger”. The latter, which the band performed with Christina Aguillera, is considered to be Maroon 5′s best selling single to date.
Currently, Adam is making waves as one of the judges in the reality TV show, The Voice, together with Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, and Cee Lo Green. Aside from being one of the judges of the said TV show, Levine is also busy with his role in the TV series, “American Horror Story“. In the said show, Levine had some pretty racy scenes with the gorgeous Jenna Dewan-Tatum, the wife of the equally hunky Channing Tatum. He is in a number of episodes for this series although Levine has kept mum about what the future holds for his character.
So, with Adam Levine dipping his toes in TV series, does this mean that it’s already the end of the Maroon 5? Fortunately, it’s not. Adam Levine and his band Maroon 5 is set to hold a North American tour by first quarter of next year. For Maroon 5 tickets, visit Ticket Broker.
